Overview

Vibe Kanban pairs a kanban board for planning with workspaces where coding agents execute, each with its own branch, terminal and dev server. You review diffs, leave inline comments that go back to the agent, preview the app in a built-in browser, and open pull requests. The README announces the project is sunsetting.

Who it is for: Developers who run several CLI coding agents in parallel and review their diffs

Strengths

  • Works with 10+ agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot, Amp and Cursor
  • Starts with one command: npx vibe-kanban
  • Inline diff comments are sent straight to the agent
  • Built-in preview browser with devtools, inspect mode and device emulation

Weaknesses

  • README states the project is sunsetting
  • Last release was 2026-04-24, months before the latest commit
  • Each coding agent must be installed and authenticated separately
  • Maintainers ask that PRs not be opened without prior discussion

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Docker
  • Needs Node.js >=20, Git, an authenticated coding agent CLI
  • Models: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Amp
