Check before you install

Paste a GitHub link to a skill, plugin or MCP server. You get its license in plain words, how well it is kept up, the safety checks it passed, and the higher-ranked projects that do the same job.

How it works

  • For a project on our lists, the page reads the same facts as its project page from our open data API: license, upkeep, safety checks and its place in its category.
  • For a repo we do not list, it makes one call to GitHub's public API from your browser and shows what that call returns. GitHub allows 60 of those an hour per visitor.
  • Safety checks cover MCP servers, skills, rules and plugins, pinned to the commit we read. "Checks passed" means those checks passed, nothing more; it is not a guarantee about the code: what we check.
  • The link you paste stays in your browser and in the page address, so you can share a result.
