Overview
Codeg is a Rust-based workspace that talks to coding agents over the Agent Client Protocol and renders each as a structured conversation with tool cards, live diffs and permission prompts. It imports and searches session history that agent CLIs keep on disk, and runs queued to-dos unattended in separate git worktrees. It ships as a desktop app, a self-hosted server or Docker container, and iOS and Android clients.
Who it is for: Developers who use several coding agents and want one workspace for them
Strengths
- Fifteen agents built in, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Cursor; other ACP agents can be added
- Imports and searches agent session history on disk, and lets one agent read another's session
- To-dos run in their own git worktree and branch, scheduled or on demand, then wait for review
- Runs as desktop app, self-hosted server, Docker, mobile clients, or via Telegram, Lark and WeChat
Weaknesses
- Wraps third-party agents; each agent's own install, login and model access still apply
- Computer Use is described as preview
- Very broad scope (git client, office viewers, canvas, browser) makes it a large surface to adopt
- Server memory, port and sizing requirements are not stated in the README excerpt
What it needs
- no GPU
- Docker + Compose
- Needs Agent CLIs such as Claude Code or Codex, Git
- Models: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenClaw, OpenCode
