Overview
Skills Manager keeps one central skill library (default ~/.skills-manager) and deploys skills to 54 supported agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI, by symlink or copy. Skills install from Git, local folders, .zip/.skill archives or the skills.sh marketplace, and can be grouped into presets. A bundled CLI and a manage-skills skill let agents drive it too, and the library can be backed up to Git.
Who it is for: Developers who use several coding agents and share skills among them
Strengths
- Deploys one library to 54 agents via symlink or copy, with per-agent toggles
- Bundled CLI with --json output and --dry-run on deploy, undeploy, sync, remove and adopt
- Git-backed backup with skill-aware merging, restorable snapshots and plain Git remote
- Shows skills installed outside the app and tracks upstream updates for Git-based skills
Weaknesses
- Windows app can only copy skills into WSL; symlinks need the Linux CLI inside WSL
- Applying a preset is a one-time copy, not a live sync
- Skills over 100 MB are excluded from backup; secrets and machine wiring stay local
- Desktop-only Tauri app; no web or server deployment described
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Tauri 2, SQLite, Node.js 20.19+ or 22.12+ (build only), Rust 1.77.2+ (build only), Git (optional backup)
