Overview

Emdash is a desktop app that launches several coding agent CLIs at once, each task in its own Git worktree and branch. It detects installed agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and Amp, and lets you review diffs, open pull requests, check CI and merge. It works on local projects and on remote machines over SSH/SFTP.

Who it is for: Developers running several coding agents side by side on one repo

Strengths

  • Per-task Git worktree and branch isolates parallel agent runs
  • Detects installed agent CLIs automatically
  • Sends tickets from Linear, GitHub, Jira, GitLab and others into an agent
  • Remote projects over SSH/SFTP with credentials in the OS keychain

Weaknesses

  • Orchestrates other agent CLIs; you install and authenticate them yourself
  • Installs hook entries in each agent's user-level config
  • Desktop only; no Docker image or browser-hosted server
  • Optional telemetry must be disabled in Settings or via TELEMETRY_ENABLED=false

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Needs Git, Agent CLIs (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Amp, etc.), SSH for remote projects
  • Models: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Amp
