Overview

Wally is a Rust command-line tool that opens a coding agent (OpenCode, Claude Code, Hermes, OpenClaw and others) already wired to a chosen model, installing the agent if missing. Models can be hosted (default glm-5.3-flash, billed to RunAnywhere credit) or open models downloaded and run locally without an account. It also offers terminal chat, an OpenAI-compatible API server, and a `decisions` command for scoring labels with the Eve model.

Who it is for: Developers who want coding agents on hosted or local open models

Strengths

  • One command launches a coding agent and installs it first if it is missing
  • Runs hosted models or local open models; local use needs no account
  • Also provides terminal chat and an OpenAI-compatible API server
  • Supports macOS, Linux and Windows, including x64 and ARM64

Weaknesses

  • Hosted models require a RunAnywhere login and are billed against its credit
  • Intel Macs unsupported; Linux needs glibc 2.39 or newer
  • Eve decision model is hosted by default; local use needs a separate checkpoint pull
  • Building from source needs CMake and a prebuilt RunAnywhere C++ desktop kit

What it needs

  • Needs RunAnywhere account (hosted models only)
  • Models: glm-5.3-flash (hosted), clef-flash-9b (local), eve (decision model), open models via local download
