Overview

An npm CLI (`npx skills`) that fetches skills defined as SKILL.md files from GitHub, GitLab, Azure Repos, any git URL, a local path or an archive URL, and installs them into each coding agent's skills directory. It supports project or global scope and symlinked or copied installs, and it adds list, find, update, remove and init commands. The README lists about 80 supported agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode.

Who it is for: Developers sharing or installing agent skills across several coding agents

Strengths

  • One command installs a skill into many agents' directories, using symlinks to a canonical copy
  • Accepts GitHub shorthand, GitLab, Azure Repos, any git URL, local paths and archive URLs
  • Private repos use existing Git credentials, GitHub CLI or SSH; a token is optional
  • Non-interactive flags (-y, --all, -g, -a) make it usable in CI

Weaknesses

  • Needs Node.js and npx; the README does not state a minimum version
  • Only manages skills; it does not supply the agents themselves
  • Agent support depends on a hand-maintained table of paths for each agent
  • Symlinks may not work on every platform; copy mode is the fallback

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Needs Node.js, npx, git
