Overview
uni-app is a Vue.js framework that compiles one codebase to iOS, Android, HarmonyOS, responsive web, mini-programs (WeChat, Alipay, Baidu, Douyin and others) and quick apps. This branch is uni-app x, which renders natively on app platforms and supports js, ts and uts. uts is a TypeScript-like language compiled to Kotlin, Swift, ArkTS or js, used mainly for native plugins.
Who it is for: Front-end developers shipping one Vue codebase to apps, web and mini-programs
Strengths
- One Vue codebase targets app, web and over ten mini-program platforms
- uni-app x renders natively on Android, iOS and HarmonyOS
- uts compiles to Kotlin, Swift, ArkTS or js for native plugin work
- Repo includes examples, tests and per-platform benchmark reports
Weaknesses
- Not an AI product; AI support is a separate uni-agent tool and training CLI
- README and docs are primarily in Chinese
- Performance claims (2-4x native) come from the vendor's own benchmarks
- Main branch is uni-app x; Vue 2 and Vue 3 versions are on other branches
What it needs
- JavaScript
