Overview

Supacode is a native macOS app, written in Swift, that gives each coding-agent task its own git worktree and a libghostty-rendered terminal. Sessions run under the zmx daemon, so they survive app quits and dropped SSH connections. It detects Claude, Codex and Copilot through installed hooks, shows busy, awaiting-input or idle state, and can be driven by a CLI and deeplinks.

Who it is for: Mac developers running several coding agents side by side

Strengths

  • One git worktree and one terminal per task, so parallel agents do not collide
  • Sessions persist via zmx across app restarts and, with zmx on the host, SSH drops
  • Live agent status badges and notifications for Claude, Codex and Copilot
  • supacode CLI and supacode:// deeplinks allow scripting and hotkey bindings

Weaknesses

  • Requires macOS 26.0 or later; no Linux or Windows support
  • Building from source needs mise, submodules, and Xcode 26.3 on macOS 26.4+
  • Remote SSH repositories are Beta with some local-only features reduced
  • License not identified by tooling (NOASSERTION); README only points to a LICENSE file

What it needs

  • Needs macOS 26.0+, git, zmx, mise, Xcode 26.3 (build, macOS 26.4+)
  • Models: Claude, Codex, Copilot
