Overview
Skybridge is a TypeScript framework for building MCP servers that render interactive React views inside Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code and other UI-enabled MCP clients. It provides a dev server with a local emulator, hot module reload and a tunnel, plus React hooks and end-to-end type inference from tool definitions to views. A CLI, an agent skill and example apps are included.
Who it is for: TypeScript developers building interactive MCP Apps for Claude and ChatGPT
Strengths
- Type inference from MCP tool definitions through to React views
- Dev server with local emulator, hot module reload and tunnel to Claude and ChatGPT
- Abstracts differences between MCP clients so one app targets several hosts
- Many runnable examples with live demos, including six OAuth provider integrations
Weaknesses
- Tied to React and TypeScript; no other frontend stack is mentioned
- Permanent tunnel, analytics and directory submission help are tied to the Alpic hosted service
- Only useful with MCP clients that support UI views
- No Docker image or compose file; self-hosting means a Node.js platform
What it needs
- TypeScript
- Needs Node.js, npm
