Overview

A Claude Code plugin and skill that lets Claude run `codex exec` and resume Codex sessions for code analysis, refactoring and editing. Claude asks for the model and reasoning effort, picks a sandbox mode (read-only for analysis), and summarizes the output. Stderr thinking tokens are suppressed with `2>/dev/null` by default to save context.

Who it is for: Claude Code users who want to hand tasks to the Codex CLI

Strengths

  • Installs as a Claude Code plugin via marketplace, or as a standalone skill copy
  • Defaults to read-only sandbox for analysis tasks
  • Hides Codex thinking tokens by default to keep context small
  • Asks for model and reasoning effort unless the prompt already sets them

Weaknesses

  • Requires the separate `codex` CLI installed with valid credentials
  • Legacy models such as gpt-5.5 are rejected for ChatGPT-account sign-ins
  • Operational details live in SKILL.md, not the README
  • No tagged release, so versioning is unknown

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Needs Claude Code, Codex CLI
  • Models: gpt-6-astra, gpt-6.1-sol, gpt-6-sol, gpt-6-luna, gpt-5.6-sol
