Overview
Plannotator hooks into coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot CLI, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Kiro, Droid, Amp, Pi) and opens their plans, markdown, HTML and diffs in a local browser UI. You annotate, approve or deny, and the structured feedback goes back to the agent. Code review covers local changes and GitHub/GitLab PRs, with Git, GitButler, jj and Perforce support.
Who it is for: Developers using CLI coding agents who want to review plans and diffs visually
Strengths
- Covers nine agents through hooks, plugins or skills; one installer auto-detects and configures them
- Reviews local diffs and GitHub/GitLab PRs; supports Git, GitButler, jj and Perforce
- No usage telemetry; plans, diffs and annotations stay local by default
- Plan mode opens the review UI automatically via ExitPlanMode and equivalent hooks
Weaknesses
- Release check against GitHub on each page load has no opt-out setting
- Droid integration is commands only, with no plan interception
- Link sharing is moving to deprecated support; team sharing is a hosted Workspaces product
- Setup differs per agent, with manual steps for Amp, Claude Code, Copilot and OpenCode
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs A supported coding agent CLI, Git, GitHub CLI or GitLab CLI for PR review
