Overview
Ovis is a herdr plugin that serves a web app and installable PWA for the Claude Code, Codex and other agent panes already running on your computer. It reads each agent's own transcript as a chat, turns supported approvals and questions into tappable cards, and keeps the live terminal one click away. It also sends push alerts, shows repository diffs and can attach other PCs over SSH.
Who it is for: Developers running coding agents in herdr who want phone or browser access
Strengths
- Reads native session transcripts for Claude Code, Codex, omp, omo, gjc, pi and Hermes
- Approvals and questions become cards, checked as current before the answer is sent
- Phone PWA with push alerts, customizable key bar and QR pairing over Tailscale
- Terminal stays attached to the same panes as herdr's TUI, so nothing is handed over
Weaknesses
- Works only with herdr 0.9.0+; no tmux or zellij support
- Linux glibc and macOS only for the shell installer; no Alpine/musl or 32-bit ARM
- Windows terminal is a screen mirror with fixed grid until herdr supports attach
- Grok chat is Linux-only; Antigravity is experimental; unsupported sessions fall back to terminal
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs herdr 0.9.0+, Bun 1.4+, Node 18+ (not on Windows), Git, Tailscale (optional)
- Models: Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, omp, omo
- port 7317
