Overview
Desktop-only Obsidian plugin that launches locally installed agents over the Agent Client Protocol and gives them a chat UI inside the vault. Notes are passed with `@` mentions, and agent edits appear as word-level diffs. Nine agent presets are included, and any ACP-compatible agent can be added as a custom entry.
Who it is for: Obsidian users who want CLI coding agents to read and edit their vault
Strengths
- Works with nine ACP agent presets plus custom ACP entries, no plugin update needed
- Per-action permission prompts; auto-allow is off by default
- Several agents can run in sidebar tabs, editor tabs, floating windows or embedded in notes
- Agents reuse their own MCP servers, skills and slash commands without plugin configuration
Weaknesses
- Desktop-only; agents must be installed and authenticated separately
- Agents keep full system access, including terminal commands, once permitted
- Session resume and fork depend on the agent
- Notes, mentions and attachments are sent to the agent's provider
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Obsidian desktop, Locally installed ACP agent (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI)
- Models: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Mistral Vibe, OpenCode
