Overview
NocoBase is a plugin-based platform for building business applications through a WYSIWYG interface, with data models, permissions, workflows and audit logs built in. It also ships a CLI (`nb`) and skills so coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can create data models, pages and workflows. It includes AI employees with role-based permissions, and exposes MCP and HTTP APIs for external agents.
Who it is for: Teams building internal tools and business systems with no-code and agents
Strengths
- Data stays in standard relational databases, separate from the UI
- Permissions, workflows and audit logs are built-in modules, not generated code
- Agents and people edit the same data models, pages and workflows
- Microkernel design: features are added as official or custom plugins
Weaknesses
- License is reported as NOASSERTION; terms need checking before commercial use
- README gives no RAM, database or port requirements
- README does not list which LLM providers the AI employees support
- Extending beyond the no-code UI requires learning its plugin architecture
What it needs
- Docker + Compose
- Compose runs MySQL, PostgreSQL
