Overview
NitroStack is a TypeScript framework for writing MCP servers. Tools, resources and prompts are declared with decorators, backed by a DI container, guards, interceptors, pipes and Zod validation. It adds JWT, OAuth 2.1 and API key auth, React widgets attached to tool output, a CLI scaffolder, and a separate NitroStudio desktop app for testing.
Who it is for: TypeScript developers building production MCP servers
Strengths
- Decorator stack combines validation, auth guards, caching and widgets on one tool
- Built-in JWT, OAuth 2.1 and API key authentication
- DI container with singleton, transient and scoped lifecycles
- CLI scaffolds a project with npx @nitrostack/cli init
Weaknesses
- TypeScript only; requires Node.js >= 20.18 and npm >= 9
- NitroStudio is a separate desktop download, not an npm package
- Opinionated decorator and DI style adds weight for small servers
- README shows no Docker setup; deployment is left to the docs
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Node.js >= 20.18, npm >= 9
