Overview

A collection of 23 skill packs, each built around a SKILL.md, that add academic workflows to coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, OpenClaw and Hermes. Skills cover Nature-style polishing, paper reading and translation, reviewer simulation, rebuttal letters, figures, citation checking and paper-to-PPT. Installation is through `npx skills`, a repo script for Codex, or wrapper files for Claude Code.

Who it is for: Researchers using coding agents for paper writing, review and figures

Strengths

  • Installs per skill via `npx skills add ... --skill`, or as the full set
  • Covers the manuscript cycle: polish, review, response letters, citations, reference verification
  • Works with several agents: Claude Code, Codex, Chatbox, OpenCode, OpenClaw, Hermes
  • Optional SessionStart hook script keeps installed skills synced with upstream

Weaknesses

  • Many skills are marked Draft or Beta; only a few are Stable
  • Python, R, Playwright and MCP dependencies are installed separately per skill
  • README is mostly Chinese and includes promotional sections such as paid GPT/Claude top-up services
  • Skills depend on `nature-shared`, which must be installed alongside them

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Needs Node.js 18+, Python, Playwright (Chromium, for patent search), PUBMED_EMAIL for academic-search MCP, OpenRouter (GPT Image 2 figure drafts)
  • Models: Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, OpenClaw, Hermes
