Overview
Python MCP server exposing a MySQL database through tools for running SQL, reading schema metadata and sampling table rows. It runs over stdio or SSE/HTTP, supports SSL and SSH tunneling, and offers a multi-database mode when MYSQL_DATABASE is unset. Two MCP prompts, explore_database and analyze_table, wrap the schema and sampling tools.

- execute_sql permits INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE; no read-only mode is documented
- SSE transport has no authentication and binds 0.0.0.0 by default
- Single SQL statements only; multi-statement queries like USE db; SELECT fail
- Claude hosts do not find .env; credentials must go in the MCP config env block
