Overview

A skill and plugin for Claude Code and Codex that wraps xcodebuild, xcrun simctl and idb in 30 Python scripts. Agents build and test Xcode projects, navigate the simulator through the accessibility tree rather than pixel taps, and run audits such as WCAG checks, visual diffs and hang capture. Output is kept to a few lines, with details fetched on demand by xcresult ID.

Who it is for: iOS developers using Claude Code or Codex to build and test apps

Strengths

  • Accessibility-tree navigation by text, type or id instead of fragile pixel coordinates
  • build_and_test.py returns a one-line summary and xcresult ID; errors and logs fetched on demand
  • 30 scripts cover boot, privacy, push, location, status bar, a11y audit and localization
  • Installs as a plugin for both Claude Code and Codex; all limits tunable via IOS_SIM_* variables

Weaknesses

  • macOS only; requires Apple silicon, macOS 15+ and full Xcode 26+
  • Needs idb 1.5.1+ installed separately; older idb on Xcode 27 silently drops taps
  • Requires Python 3.12+; Pillow needed for visual diffs
  • Manual install is easy to get wrong because SKILL.md sits three levels deep in the repo

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Needs macOS 15+, Xcode 26+, idb 1.5.1+, Python 3.12+, Pillow (visual diffs)
