Overview
Node.js MCP server that drives a booted iOS Simulator through Facebook IDB and xcrun simctl. It exposes tools for tapping, typing, swiping, reading the accessibility tree, taking screenshots, recording video, and installing, launching and terminating apps. It is meant for agent-driven QA after a feature change, from clients such as Cursor or Claude Code.
Who it is for: iOS and React Native developers using agents to QA apps in the Simulator
Strengths
- Covers UI input, accessibility inspection, screenshots, video and app install/launch/terminate in one server
- Runs via npx or pnpm dlx, with no build step for normal use
- Env vars can filter out tools and set the output directory and IDB path
- open_url handles deep links, which shortens agent navigation to a target screen
Weaknesses
- macOS only; requires Xcode and installed iOS simulators
- Requires Facebook IDB installed separately
- ui_type accepts ASCII printable characters only
- Versions before 1.3.3 had command injection flaws; older installs must update
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Node.js 20+, macOS, Xcode, iOS simulators, Facebook IDB
