Overview

FormKit provides a single `<FormKit>` component for every input type, with 30+ built-in validation rules declared inline and data structured by nested group and list types. Forms can also be generated from serializable JSON schemas. It has a framework-agnostic core with Vue 3 and React 18/19 bindings, and `npx formkit skill` configures coding agents with its docs.

Who it is for: Vue and React developers building validated forms, including with coding agents

Strengths

  • One component for all inputs, with automatic ARIA labels and descriptions
  • JSON schema can generate whole forms, including conditionals and loops
  • Shared core across Vue 3 and React 18/19 bindings
  • Ships 30+ languages for i18n, switchable at runtime

Weaknesses

  • Only Vue and React bindings; no other frameworks listed
  • Advanced inputs (datepicker, autocomplete, repeater) are in the paid Pro tier
  • Not an AI project itself; the agent angle is a skill installer and docs
  • Tailwind-oriented Regenesis theme; other styling needs custom work

What it needs

  • TypeScript
