Overview

Erupt generates admin UIs, REST endpoints and permission checks from annotations on JPA entities, on Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.x. It includes RBAC, Excel import/export and 30+ form components, plus an optional erupt-ai module with 50+ LLM providers, MCP tools and A2A. Workflow, multi-tenant and BI modules are commercial.

Who it is for: Java and Spring Boot teams building internal admin panels and back-office tools

Strengths

  • One annotated JPA entity yields paged, searchable, exportable, role-gated admin page without front-end code
  • Ships RBAC, row and column permissions, OAuth2/LDAP/SSO, Excel and OpenAPI in core modules
  • erupt-ai adds 50+ LLM providers, MCP over SSE and STDIO, and per-role tool whitelisting
  • Core modules are Apache 2.0; sample runs with in-memory H2 and no config

Weaknesses

  • Java and Spring Boot only; JPA databases are MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, DM
  • Workflow, multi-tenant SaaS and BI modules are paid, source-code delivery
  • Sends anonymous telemetry by default; opt-out via config or environment variable
  • UI customization is bounded by what the annotations expose

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Needs Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, Maven, JPA database (H2 default; MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, DM), MongoDB (optional), Redis (optional)
  • Models: OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen
  • port 8080
