Overview
Runs a Node.js HTTP service with a React issue board backed by SQLite, and injects it into the Codex desktop app as a sidebar panel over CDP. A bundled `taskctl` CLI and the `manage-taskboard` Skill let Codex tasks read issues, move them to in_progress and in_review, and record the conversation ID. Desktop packages exist for macOS, Windows and Ubuntu 24.04 x64, and an optional Cloudflare deployment uses Workers, D1 and R2.
Who it is for: Codex desktop users who want a local task board that Codex tasks can update
Strengths
- Same HTTP API serves the React UI and the taskctl CLI used by the Skill
- Skill moves issues to done only after explicit user confirmation
- Single SQLite file at .data/taskboard.sqlite, no separate database server
- Live updates to all open clients via server-sent events
Weaknesses
- Embedding relies on unauthenticated CDP and a CSP bypass, so only trusted local code should run
- LAN mode has no account authentication; default bind is 0.0.0.0
- Linux packages cover Ubuntu 24.04 x64 only; no ARM64, Fedora or RPM
- Windows CI builds are unsigned and do not auto-update
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Node.js 22.5+, Codex desktop app (ChatGPT.app), SQLite, Rust 1.88+ and Tauri (app builds only), Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2 (optional)
- port 47823
