Overview

Python reference implementation of two Claude agents: a customer-facing shopping agent and a staff-facing merchant agent. Each is defined once (prompt, skills, tool contracts, gates) and runs on the Messages API, the Claude Agent SDK, or Managed Agents. Four fictional verticals (retail, travel, telecom, entertainment) ship with web storefronts and portals; you implement StorefrontBackend or MerchantBackend over your own systems.

Strengths

  • Same prompt, skills and tool contracts run on Messages API, Agent SDK and Managed Agents
  • Merchant writes are staged until a person approves; checkout is handed off to the host
  • Four runnable verticals with storefront and portal web apps via scripts/run_demo.py
  • Includes a Claude Code plugin that scaffolds and reviews commerce agents

Weaknesses

  • Not maintained and does not accept contributions, per the README
  • Example hosts have no authentication; MCP servers bind to loopback only
  • Requires an Anthropic API key; other platforms are covered only in docs/deployment.md
  • No MCP connectors ship; you write backend methods for every system
