Overview

Agor is a web workspace that runs coding-agent CLIs and SDKs (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, OpenCode, Copilot, Cursor beta) on separate git branches. Each branch gets its own working directory, dev server and conversation history, shown as cards on a shared 2D board with live cursors and comments. It adds persistent teammates with a knowledge base, a scheduler, Slack and GitHub gateways, and an MCP server.

Who it is for: Engineering teams coordinating multiple coding agents across shared branches

Strengths

  • Runs several agent runtimes interchangeably per session, using your own provider subscriptions
  • Per-branch working directory and dev server with automatically assigned ports to avoid collisions
  • Branch-scoped RBAC, per-user credentials, and per-prompt token and dollar accounting
  • Install via npm (agor-live) or Docker Compose; LibSQL or Postgres storage

Weaknesses

  • BSL 1.1 license: source-available, not open source until conversion to Apache 2.0
  • Cannot be offered to third parties as a hosted or managed agent-orchestration service
  • Requires Node.js 22.12 or newer and Git; the daemon runs as a separate process
  • Cursor support and Cards are marked beta

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Docker + Compose
  • Needs Node.js >= 22.12, Git, LibSQL or Postgres, Agent CLIs/SDKs (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, etc.)
  • Models: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode
  • port 5173

Quick answers

Is agor open source?

Its code is public on GitHub under its own license terms; read them before you use it at work.

Can you run agor with Docker?

Yes. Its repository has a Docker setup: a Dockerfile, a Compose file or a published image.
