Overview

AgentsMesh runs terminal-based coding agents (Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Aider, OpenCode, or custom) in isolated pods, each with its own Git worktree, on self-hosted runner daemons. A Go backend orchestrates runners over gRPC with mTLS, while terminal output streams through a separate relay to Web, Electron and iOS clients. It adds Autopilot control agents, pod channels and a Kanban ticket board.

Who it is for: Engineers running many parallel coding agents across several machines

Strengths

  • Each agent pod gets its own Git worktree, branch and credentials, so concurrent agents do not collide
  • Runners are self-hosted daemons, so code stays on your machines; capacity set via max_concurrent_pods
  • Control plane (gRPC+mTLS) is split from terminal streaming through a stateless WebSocket relay
  • Works with any terminal agent; Web, Electron and iOS clients share one Rust core

Weaknesses

  • BSL-1.1 license: production use requires a commercial license until 2030-02-28
  • Self-hosting needs PostgreSQL, Redis, MinIO, Traefik, backend and relay; heavy for small teams
  • README recommends the hosted service at agentsmesh.ai; self-host guide lives in a separate folder
  • Agents need your own API keys (BYOK); no models bundled

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Docker + Compose
  • Needs PostgreSQL, Redis, MinIO, Traefik, Docker
  • Models: Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Aider, OpenCode
  • port 3000
