Overview

AgentDock is a Go MCP server (Streamable HTTP) that gives ChatGPT, Claude or Codex access to files, shell commands, Git, browser automation and Skills on local computers, VPS hosts and containers. Several instances can be connected so one conversation works across machines. It installs from OS packages, Docker or systemd, and pairs with the hosted NexusDock service or a self-hosted one.

Who it is for: Engineers who want ChatGPT or Claude to operate their servers and dev machines

Strengths

  • Multiple instances can be connected, so one chat reaches several machines
  • Covers files, shell, Git, browser automation and macOS desktop control in one server
  • Installers for Docker, Linux, systemd, macOS and Windows
  • Bearer token or OAuth on the MCP endpoint; task checkpoints survive interruptions

Weaknesses

  • Easiest pairing path goes through the NexusDock hosted service
  • Desktop control is documented for macOS only
  • Shell access on real machines needs careful auth and exposure settings
  • README gives no RAM figures or tested model list

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Docker + Compose
  • Needs Cloudflare (optional, for public address), NexusDock (optional, for pairing)
  • Models: ChatGPT, Claude, Codex
  • port 8765

Quick answers
