Overview
AG Kit installs an `.agents/` workspace into a project with 20 specialist agent roles, 47 skills, 13 slash-command workflows and 6 rules, plus a file-based memory directory. It registers a narrow PreToolUse hook that blocks root-filesystem deletion, drive formatting and raw-disk overwrites. Updates are merge-aware with backup and rollback, and a local Antigravity plugin bundle can be built.
Who it is for: Google Antigravity users wanting preset agents, skills and safety hooks
Strengths
- Merge-aware `ag-kit update` with --dry-run, automatic backups and `ag-kit rollback`
- Safety hook blocks destructive commands but allows cleanup like deleting dist/ or node_modules/
- Components carry SemVer contracts, a manifest lock and a dependency graph to detect drift
- Plugin bundle includes a SHA-256 content inventory (PLUGIN_CONTENTS.json)
Weaknesses
- Production support is limited to Google Antigravity; other tools are not guaranteed
- Hook covers only high-confidence destructive patterns and does not replace permissions or sandboxing
- Needs Node.js 22 for repo tooling and Python 3.10 for validators
- Default MCP example contains YOUR_API_KEY placeholders, so the doctor warns until configured
What it needs
- no GPU
- Docker
- Needs Node.js 22+, Python 3.10+, Git, Google Antigravity
