Overview
DramaClaw is a source-available production line for AI short drama. It pairs a node-based canvas (XiaHua) with a series pipeline (XiaJi) that takes a manuscript or screenplay through episode planning, scripts, storyboards, voice-over and video export. A built-in agent, Xia Director, plans and runs canvas workflows. Inference goes through an OpenAI-compatible gateway, not local models.
Who it is for: Indie studios and creators producing AI short dramas on their own servers
Strengths
- Covers the whole chain: ingest, episode planning, storyboards, voice-over, subtitles and video export
- Canvas with 18 node types plus an agent that builds and runs graphs after confirmation
- Light local footprint: 2 vCPU / 4 GB recommended, GPU only for the optional world extra
- Agent Kit exposes workflows to Codex, Claude Code, OpenClaw and other MCP clients
Weaknesses
- Elastic License 2.0 with a Powered by DramaClaw notice; hosted SaaS use not permitted
- Previz 3D stage and interactive stories are closed beta, not in the main branch
- Needs an external OpenAI-compatible gateway; no models run locally
- Tuned for drama and short-form video; sample works are in Chinese
What it needs
- RAM ≥ 4 GB
- GPU optional
- Docker + Compose
- Needs OpenAI-compatible gateway (RelayClaw or dramaclaw-gateway), Docker
- Models: OpenAI-compatible API, Seedance 2.5, open-weight models via gateway
