Overview

A Datawhale course on building retrieval-augmented generation systems in Python, written mainly in Chinese with an English README. It covers data loading, chunking, text and multimodal embeddings, Milvus, hybrid search, Text2SQL, query rewriting, evaluation and a knowledge-graph RAG chapter. Chapters 8 and 9 build a full project and then add Graph RAG; chapter 10 is still planned.

Who it is for: Python developers learning to build RAG systems, reading Chinese

Strengths

  • Covers the full pipeline: loading, chunking, embedding, Milvus, hybrid search, Text2SQL, evaluation
  • Includes multimodal embedding and Graph RAG chapters plus a worked end-to-end project
  • Each chapter pairs written explanation with code in the repo
  • Online reader site and an English README are available

Weaknesses

  • Main tutorial text is in Chinese; the English version is a separate README
  • CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 terms bar commercial use; no license was detected by tooling
  • Chapter 10, the second project, is listed as planned and not written
  • Only Extra-chapter pull requests are accepted for documentation

What it needs

  • Needs Python 3.12.7, Milvus, Neo4j, Docker
