Overview
@shadcn/lint is a lint plugin for ESLint 9.30+ and Oxlint 1.80+ that checks Tailwind v4 class usage in React, Vue and Svelte. Rules cover restyling components via className, raw colors, arbitrary values, inline styles, unknown classes and dynamic class strings. Errors suggest fixes from your components, variants and theme, and can be customised with per-component contracts and message placeholders.
Who it is for: Teams with Tailwind design systems whose coding agents write UI
Strengths
- Error messages name allowed sizes, variants and theme file, drawn from your own components
- Per-component contracts (allow/deny patterns) without changing component code
- Runs on both ESLint and Oxlint across React, Vue and Svelte
- Works without shadcn/ui via componentImports settings
Weaknesses
- Tailwind v4 only
- Oxlint reads only script blocks in Vue and Svelte files, not templates or markup
- Variants from typed props are resolved in React only
- Eval results come from the authors' own runs; independent numbers unknown
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Node.js 20.19+, ESLint 9.30+ or Oxlint 1.80+, Tailwind v4
