Overview
LazyCodex installs the oh-my-openagent (OmO) harness into Codex through an npx installer or the Codex plugin marketplace. It adds the $init-deep, $ulw-plan, $start-work and $ulw-loop commands, skills, hooks and sub-agent roles in ~/.codex/agents/. It also routes subtasks to different GPT models by task category.
Who it is for: Codex users on large repos who want planning and verified-completion workflows
Strengths
- Installs with one npx command; uninstall and a doctor health check are included
- Plan, execute, verify workflow: plans go to plans/<slug>.md, loops capped at 100 or 500 iterations
- Generates hierarchical AGENTS.md project memory with $init-deep
- Hooks run only after approval in Codex's startup review
Weaknesses
- Codex marketplace install is labeled experimental; npx is the primary path
- Core engine is a git submodule of oh-my-openagent, so this is a thin wrapper
- README documents only OpenAI GPT model routing
- Sub-agent roles rely on Codex spawn_agent; falls back to prompt text without agent_type
