Overview

A Ghidra extension (Java) plus a Python MCP bridge that exposes 209 tools for decompilation, cross-references, renaming, typing, structs, P-code emulation and debugger control. The extension serves HTTP on 127.0.0.1:8089 inside Ghidra, and the bridge relays MCP calls to it. It runs in the Ghidra GUI or headless, and naming and type rules are enforced on writes.

Who it is for: Reverse engineers who want AI agents to drive Ghidra

Strengths

  • 209 tools covering read and write: decompile, rename, retype, comment, structs, batch edits
  • P-code emulation and 16 debugger endpoints via TraceRmi (GUI plugin only)
  • Naming and type conventions enforced in the tool layer: auto-fix, warn or reject
  • Release zip plus wheel install; headless mode and Ghidra Server support

Weaknesses

  • Extension loads only in the exact Ghidra version it was built for (12.1.4)
  • Needs Ghidra, Java 21 and Python 3.10+ with uv; no Docker files detected
  • Script execution is opt-in via GHIDRA_MCP_ALLOW_SCRIPTS=1; .py scripts need Jython
  • main is beta and dev is experimental; only tagged releases are stable

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Docker + Compose
  • Needs Ghidra 12.1.4, Java 21, Python 3.10+, uv
  • port 8089
