Overview

create-better-t-stack is an interactive CLI that generates a TypeScript project from selected parts: frontend (React, Next.js, Nuxt, Svelte, Solid, Astro, React Native), backend (Hono, Express, Fastify, Elysia, Convex), tRPC or oRPC, a database with Drizzle, Prisma or Mongoose, and Better Auth or Clerk. It also ships a Claude Code plugin with an MCP server so an assistant can plan and generate a stack.

Who it is for: TypeScript developers starting a new full-stack project

Strengths

  • Wide choice of frontends, backends, ORMs and databases; only selected parts are generated
  • Addons include Turborepo, Nx, Biome, Tauri, PWA and WXT
  • Bundled Claude Code plugin and MCP server can scaffold stacks from a description
  • Web Stack Builder generates the CLI command for a chosen stack

Weaknesses

  • Scaffolds a project once; README describes no update or migration path
  • AI is only an optional example template, not a core feature
  • Web deploy targets only Cloudflare Workers
  • Billing is not among the listed generated options

What it needs

  • TypeScript
  • Needs Bun, pnpm or npm, Turso, Neon, Supabase, MongoDB Atlas or Cloudflare D1 (optional DB setup)
