Overview
A single-file Python script that installs an instruction prompt into a local Codex config directory (e.g. ~/.codex), so new Codex sessions follow it. It shows a dry-run plan first and writes only with --yes, and it offers --status, --restore-hooks, --uninstall and --reactivate. Per the README it does not modify Codex itself or read account credentials.
Who it is for: Codex users who want a managed, removable custom instruction prompt
Strengths
- Preview first; nothing is written until --yes is passed
- Uninstall and restore commands, also preview-first
- Release scripts ship with SHA256SUMS for checksum verification
- Single Python file, needs only Python 3.10+
Weaknesses
- Affects only new Codex sessions; old tasks must be closed
- Windows fresh deployment is still a beta channel
- Desktop builds are unsigned and trigger Gatekeeper or SmartScreen
- Main README is in Chinese; English version is a separate file
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Python 3.10+, Codex installed locally
