Overview
Cindy is the open-source client (Electron desktop and Expo mobile apps in a pnpm monorepo) for an agent that works on your local files and logged-in apps. It wraps the Claude Code and Codex harnesses, lets you switch models and harnesses mid-task, and can drive a browser, computer and phone. The backend service is in a separate repository and is not included.

Strengths

Weaknesses
- Backend is not open source; server-backed features need the hosted Cindy service
- Defaults to Cindy's official cloud endpoints; no self-hosted server path documented
- Official builds send TapDB analytics and a heartbeat; removing it needs code edits
- Only Claude Code and Codex harnesses today; native harness and plugin marketplace unfinished
