Overview
SuperClaude is a Python package that installs 30 `/sc:*` slash commands into Claude Code, along with 20 agent personas and 7 behavioral modes, all delivered as instruction files. It can also install 8 optional MCP servers (Tavily, Context7, Serena, Playwright and others) with `superclaude mcp`. Install is via pipx or an install script; a TypeScript plugin system is planned for v5.0 and is not available yet.
Who it is for: Claude Code users who want preset commands, agents and MCP setups
Strengths
- Installs with `pipx install superclaude` and `superclaude install`; `superclaude doctor` verifies it
- 30 slash commands cover brainstorming, implementation, testing, git, research and session save/load
- MCP servers are optional; the framework works without them
- MIT licensed, with docs for commands, agents, modes and flags
Weaknesses
- Targets Claude Code only; separate sibling projects exist for Gemini and Qwen
- Claimed 2-3x speed and 30-50% token savings with MCPs come with no benchmark details
- Plugin marketplace install is not available yet; v5.0 has no ETA
- README mixes v4.1, v4.2 and v4.3 notes, and the research examples are unclear
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Claude Code, pipx, Tavily MCP (optional), Context7 MCP (optional), Serena MCP (optional), Playwright MCP (optional)
- Models: Claude (via Claude Code)
