Overview
Happy is an Expo mobile and web client, an npm CLI (`happy claude`, `happy codex`) that wraps the Claude Code and Codex harnesses, and a relay server for end-to-end encrypted sync. Sessions started in the terminal can be continued from a phone. The newer multi-model Happy Harness (Claude, Codex, Grok) lives in the separate desktop app and happy-agent repositories.
Who it is for: Developers who want to drive Claude Code or Codex sessions from their phone
Strengths
- Continue terminal Claude Code and Codex sessions from iOS, Android or web
- Mobile sync between devices is end-to-end encrypted via a relay server
- MIT licensed; the relay server is in the repo for self-hosting
- Reuses existing Claude, Codex and Grok subscriptions rather than adding billing
Weaknesses
- Multi-model Harness and multiplayer sessions are in other repos, not this one
- Original CLI only wraps Claude Code and Codex, not Grok
- README gives no self-hosting steps, ports or resource requirements
- Needs an existing Claude or Codex subscription or install to be useful
What it needs
- no GPU
- Docker
- Needs Claude Code, Codex, Node.js and npm
- Models: Claude, Codex, Grok
