Overview
A Codex Skill plus a local Node.js bridge that lets the ChatGPT web app plan and review work while Codex executes edits, tests and git commands. ChatGPT reads the workspace through a loopback, OAuth 2.1-protected, read-only MCP server with 10 tools, exposed via a Cloudflare tunnel. This uses a ChatGPT subscription's web quota instead of API tokens.
Who it is for: Codex users with a ChatGPT subscription who want to offload planning and review
Strengths
- Read-only MCP tools only; no write, delete or shell tools exist on the server
- Sensitive files (.env*, keys, SSH) denied by default; .c2cignore adds custom rules
- OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, one-time pairing code (5-minute TTL), tokens bound to one workspace
- ChatGPT reviews the real git diff and test records rather than trusting Codex's claims
Weaknesses
- Requires a ChatGPT subscription and driving the ChatGPT web UI through Computer Use
- Default Cloudflare quick-tunnel URL changes on restart, forcing connector re-creation
- Stable hostname needs a Cloudflare account and a domain on Cloudflare
- Unofficial and marked V1; depends on ChatGPT connector and web UI behavior
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Node.js >= 20, git, cloudflared, pnpm, ChatGPT Plus/Pro account, Codex
- Models: ChatGPT web (Plus/Pro), Codex
