Overview
AI-DLC installs a harness-neutral workflow engine into Claude Code, Kiro CLI and IDE, Codex CLI, Cursor, opencode and GitHub Copilot. A single /aidlc command picks one of 11 workflow profiles, runs 33 stages across 5 phases with 14 agents, and stops at human approval gates. State, a 119-event audit trail and learned rules persist per project.
Who it is for: Teams adding gated, auditable delivery workflows to AI coding assistants
Strengths
- Same engine across seven harnesses, configured with `aidlc config --harness`
- Human approval gates and a 119-event audit trail
- 11 workflow profiles, including bug fix, infrastructure, security and proof of concept
- Native installer; Bun and Node.js not needed for normal install
Weaknesses
- Needs a separate harness and model provider; AI-DLC supplies neither
- Install is a curl-to-shell script; manual path requires Bun
- Large surface (33 stages, 14 agents, 93 tools) means a learning curve
- Recommended model is Claude Opus 4.8; quality on other models unknown
What it needs
- no GPU
- Needs Claude Code, Kiro, Codex CLI, Cursor, opencode or GitHub Copilot, Bun (manual-copy install only), Amazon Bedrock (optional)
- Models: Claude Opus 4.8 (recommended), Amazon Bedrock, Provider set by harness
